Sumter can be seen from the beaches of this historic island. It has a strong military history from the Revolutionary War up thru today’s war on terror. The last lighthouse built in the US is the Sullivan’s Island Light house. Recently acquired by the National Parks and Recreation Commission and Homeland Security has it watchful eye utilizing cameras to protect our famous harbor and towns. Free Tours, of parts of this lighthouse, are given 2 or 3 times a year.

Sullivan’s Island is home to many wealthy Charlestonian families and other celebrities you would most certainly recognize. We keep their information private so they can enjoy the quiet of the historic island and its beaches. The Island does not encourage nor permit weekly rentals of homes as Isle of Palms does. There are still many desirable lots to build a home in this quaint little community.

Sullivan’s Island is one of the most expensive zip codes in the US. All are welcome to visit the quaint little town and community that is accessed by the new Sullivan’s Island Swing Bridge. Yes the Bridge swings open at a right angle to allow taller ships to pass thru the Intercoastal Waterway.
